Malta’s Permanent Residence Program necessitates making a contribution to its economy. In return, and depending on a comprehensive application process, the program would grant permanent residency to not only the applicant but also their family. Qualifying for PR requires meeting a set of criteria for the aforesaid residence scheme, which includes the following.
- The applicant has to be aged at least 18 years.
- They have to make a contribution of €28,000 or €58,000 depending on whether buys property as an investment or rent it.
- The investor must buy a piece of property worth €350,000, or €3,000 when it is in Gozo or South Malta, at the least, and hold it for at least five years.
Investing in Malta real estate can offer several different benefits. For one, Malta’s PR program will allow getting a European Union residence card that grants free travel throughout the Schengen region in exchange for that investment.
Successful applicants can reside in Malta for an indefinite period, but it is not compulsory. Malta opens up its residency program to as many as 4 generations of a family for each application. Applicants are entitled to get back their qualifying financial investment five years later as well as access employment opportunities in Malta. They are also entitled to live, study and/or work in Malta with no restrictions.
It is possible for you, the applicant, to renew the residency permit indefinitely, making it a lifelong residence option for you.
