
5 New CRA Benefit Payments Coming in January 2025

1. Canada Child Benefit (CCB)
The Canada Child Benefit (CCB) is a monthly tax-free payment for families with children under 18. It helps tackle the cost of raising children and is often the only support that new families in Canada have.
Eligibility:
- Newcomers and temporary residents who meet residency requirements and Canadian residents.
- It means that if somebody is living in Canada as a temporary resident, he or she has to live here for 18 consecutive months plus 19th months with a valid permit.
- Newcomers can start to apply as soon as they settle in.
Payment Amounts:
- For children under the age of 6, up to $7,786.92 ($648.91 monthly).
- Slide variable for up to $507.50 a month ($6,570 annually) for children 6 through 17.
- As Adjusted Family Net Income (AFNI) increases, payments decrease to as low as $0.
How to Apply:
- Submit Form RC66 and apply online using My Account or by mail to the tax center.

- 2025 — 21 January, 19 February, 18 March.
2. GST Credit
The GST/HST Credit provides quarterly, tax-free payments to low and moderate-income households, to help manage Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Harmonized Sales Tax (HST).
Eligibility:
- It’s payable by Canadians automatically when filing taxes and no separate application is required.
Payment Amounts:
- Up to $519 for an individual.
- Allowed per person ($680 for couples, $179 for each child under 19).
Next Payment Dates:
- 2025, January 3, April 4, and July 5.
3. Advanced Canada Workers Benefit (ACWB)
Eligibility:
- Ages 19 and up, or living with a spouse or child.
- Income thresholds differ depending on the province and how many members are in a family.
Payment Amounts:
- They can also allow up to $1,518 annually per single individual.
- Families can get up to $2,616 a year in quarterly payments.

- The 10th, 11th and 12th of January, April, and July 2025.
4. Canada Carbon Rebate (CCR)
Eligibility:
- People in provinces that have federal air pollution pricing (like Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario).
- There are additional payments for rural or small communities.
Payment Amounts:
- Albertans could receive up to $1,544 a year.
- Up to $976 a year may be available to Ontario families.
Next Payment Dates:
- April 15, 2025, January 15, 2025, October 15, 2025, and July 15, 2025.
5. Province of Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB)
Eligibility:
- Ontarians who filed their 2023 tax return.
- Meet residency requirements, temporary residents.
Payment Amounts:
- Monthly payments up to $1,013 or a lump sum.
Next Payment Date:
- January 10, 2025.
