There are now at least 12 months of work experience required for all Express Entry drawings based on occupations. This is up from 6 months. But doctors, researchers, and senior administrators must have worked in Canada before. Please be aware that cooks are no longer on the list of trade jobs for 2026.

Researchers who have the right NOC codes:

Valid Senior Managers NOC Codes:
Some job titles are: Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Dean, Chief Risk Officer, and others.
NOC codes qualify under the Transportation category:
You can obtain experience in Canada or somewhere else in the world.
Some jobs titles are: avionics technician, aircraft inspector, car mechanic, airline pilot, and more.
NOC Codes for Military Recruits with Skills:
Requirements: At least ten years of military service, an employment offer from the Canadian Armed Forces, and a post-secondary certification that lasts for two years.
