Eligibility Criteria for the Rural Immigration Pathway

In order to gain access to the permanent residency Rural Immigration Pathway, the applicants need to do the following:

  • At least one job offer from the designated employers in one of the 14 participating communities must be accepted.
  • Work Experience Required: Three years ago, at least one year, aka 1,560 hours of full-time work was done. This is not applicable to qualified international students.
  • Describe or show observation hearing ability language proficiency standards: Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 6 for TEER 0–3 (higher-skilled) jobs or CLB 4 for TEER 4-5 (lower-skilled) positions.
  • Provide the ECA if the education was attained outside of Canada.
  • Settle: Show proof of settlement funds for oneself and one’s family for at least one year.
  • A certificate of recommendation from a local economic development organization must also be acquired.
  • Show intention to live in a rural community.
